Wattvault

Retired EV batteries still have most of a life left.

Seed 2025 · $7.0M Climate Melbourne, Australia

Wattvault turns retired EV battery packs into stationary storage for commercial buildings, sold as a service rather than a capital purchase. Buildings shave their peak demand without financing the hardware up front, and packs get a second life instead of a scrapyard.

Two things line up here: retired packs that are far from finished, and buildings that want peak-shaving but not a capital line item. Nina connected them with a service model that makes the maths work for both sides. We like it when the sustainable option is also the cheaper one.

Nina Costa

Co-founder & CEO

Nina is an energy-storage engineer who couldn't stand watching EV packs get scrapped with most of their capacity intact. Wattvault is her answer: give them a second job holding up a building.
